Blog Tour: Lucan by Susan Kearney

What would it be like to live knowing that you were destined to spend the rest of your life without a lover? What if you had special powers and because of this you were not allowed to fall in love. This is the future for Lady Cael. Well, that was the path set for her life until she met Lucan.

Lucan allows Cael to know what living really feels like. He shows her a life she was not supposed to live. And it seems the more she tries to fight these emotions, the more she feels drawn to Lucan. She is tempted to run away with her love and never look back. Will she live the life set out for her or will she take the reigns and make a future of her own?

I've always been a sucker for forbidden passion. This book was so hot I'm surprised I didn't burst into flames.

GUEST POST:

When did you know that you wanted to be a writer? I’m still not sure I want to be a writer. Not even after 50 books. Writing isn’t easy for me. But I can’t seem to help myself. I started about 14 years ago and didn’t have any idea what I was doing. I finished my first manuscript but couldn’t sell it. My skills weren’t good enough and the market wasn’t ready for futuristic romance. But the first book I ever wrote ended up being my 38th published.

Who has been your biggest inspiration? My inspiration comes from inside. Sure, I love to read many authors. I respect other people’s accomplishments. But I write because I love to get lost in my worlds and my characters. What could be better than creating stories that readers love to read and getting paid for it, too?

How do you create the characters in your books?  Are they based on people you know? The characters are never based on people I know. However, they are based on emotions, and wants and needs that all of feel. I like to create larger than life characters, give them really tough problems, and a vulnerability or flaw. In LUCAN I was thinking about Indian Jones goes into space and I matched him up with a woman after the same prize he wants. At the end, he can choose to save her—or Earth.

What is the one book you think everyone should read? Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

If you weren’t a writer, what be your profession? I actually have another profession. I’m a real estate broker.

If you could trade places with anyone in the world, past or present, real or fiction, who would it be and why? I’d love to trade places with any of the astronauts who walked on the moon. I’d love to go on the first mission to Mars. Space travel is exciting.
If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have 3 things, what would they be? A transporter, my husband and chocolate.

What is your favorite movie of all time? Independence Day.

What is the one thing that you want all your fans to know? That the futuristic market is very tiny. If you want to see more books like mine, tell your friends. That will open up the genre for other authors to write this genre.

If you could invite 5 people to dinner, who would they be and why? Nicoli Tesler because I want to know if he invented a machine that produces more energy that it uses. Ann Rynd because I’d love to hear her take on the world today. My husband and kids because they would find it fascinating too.
