Satellite TV Is The Best Way To Watch Sports On TV

Shout out to Bobby Powell for the awesome guest post!
One of the best things in life for me is being able to watch sports on Direct TV. I like to watch several sports but my favorite to watch is soccer because I am still trying to figure out what the game is all about. I find it a bit boring sometimes when I am too familiar with what is happening on the field of other sports because I have played most of them myself and can usually figure out what is going to take place before it even happens.

With Soccer, I am still learning the game so it holds my interest more than most others do sometimes. I pick out a player and pretend that it is me on the field and try to get into their head to try to get a feel for the game. That way it seems that I am actually on the field and in the game. Whoopee, I really do love it when my team wins because that means that I have won as well.

Another thing I like about watching the game this way is that I get to talk with my friends like I was a player and they are usually sitting right there with me playing the game right along with me. We have been doing this for some time now and it makes the experience so much better.

Test Drive

When my husband and I were dating, we would go test drive cars just for fun. We rode around in one nissan altima that I really liked. It was so smooth and comfortable. A few months ago, we decided to ride around in a nissan versa and I was really impressed with that model as well.

Another car that we drove around, merely for fun was the audi q7. It was a nice ride and everything but I can't really picture us going out and purchasing one.

My husband wanted to test drive a toyota tacoma so we took it out and it just reinforced the idea that we want a vehicle that sits up higher off the ground. I feel safer that way.

Review: Little Looster Potty Stool

The Little Looster Potty Stool is the perfect tool for potty training.

What is a Little Looster?

Booster for the Loo is a horseshoe shaped stool that surrounds the base of your toilet, creating a pedestal for children to be supported while they sit on the loo. We can all say goodbye to the port-a-potty, toilet seat inserts, diapers, stress, apprehension, accidents and the lack of space in our bathrooms.

The inventor of the Little Looster is Monica who has three children.  While potty training her own children, she came up with this revolutionary product and wants to share her product with other parents who are training their children.

There are so many great things about this product that I don't even know where to start. You can say goodbye to the baby potty and give your child a head start in using the "adult" toilet. Kids like to do things like adults do and wouldn't it be a lot easier to teach them on the regular toilet than to train them in the baby potty and then work your way up to the adult toilet? The Little Looster skips a step which saves parents time and frustration.

Review & Giveaway: Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill

Chicago has become the Shapeshifters haven. The master Vampire, Ethan, who has been in Chicago for some time, has decided to all a truce with the Shapeshifters and their leader, Gabriel. Ethan even gave the Shapeshifting leader his newest vampire as a bodyguard and her name is Merit. This wasn't just done as a favor to the Shapeshifters, Ethan has a hidden agenda which is having Merit work as a spy. When Gabriel's life is in danger, Merit soon figures out that this is going to be a really tough job.

The really cool thing about this book is Merit. I was rooting for her throughout the whole book. She's a kick-ass chic with wits. Five stars!

Watch

I could really use a nice watch. A lot of people I know are now using their cell phones to tell them the time but a lot of them also let their cell phone battery die and then they end up asking around to find out what time it is. Or they end up sitting their phone down somewhere and forgetting where they put it. I’m guilty of that too.

I really like the fact that watches can double as a fashion accessory. I want a watch that turns heads. I don't wear jewelry very often and I would feel a lot more comfortable wearing a traser h3 watch than wearing a tennis bracelet. I think my husband is the real reason I feel this way. He loves having a nice watch and whenever I look at his wrist, it looks nice because it's not bare.

My birthday is coming up and I'm thinking about asking for a gorgeous watch. I want one that is loud, like a bright red or purple. It would be really cool to get a watch that matches one of my purses. I want to be stylish and I always feel better when I get out of the house and feel put-together. What are your thoughts on watches and their style?

Review & Giveaway: Unspeakable by Laura Griffin

Elaina knows what she wants to do with the rest of her life which is working as an FBI profiler.  Who could have guessed that her first case would be so overwhelming?  There's a serial killer on the loose and he just keeps getting nastier and nastier with each new murder.

Elaina finds herself growing close to Troy, a true crime writer.  She's not sure why she is wasting time with this gorgeous player but the more time they spend together, the more Elaina likes him.  Can they work together to catch this maniac before he makes Elaina one of his unlucky victims?

This is the first book of Laura's that I've read and I'm hooked!  She's an amazing author!  The characters and the story captivated me.  Now I just need to get a hold of some more of her books.

Review: The Making of a Duchess by Shana Galen

Sarah has no idea what it takes to be a spy. How can she possibly gain enough information to prove that the French duke, Julien is a traitor? If she doesn't do this though, her life will drastically change and she is determined to not let that happen.

At first, her only problem seems to be collecting evidence but as she gets closer to Julien, she realizes that her feelings for him are clouding the job she is supposed to complete. Will they be able to work past this and live happily ever after or will both of them be condemned to a life apart?

This is probably one of my favorite historical romances. The plot was amazing and Shana's writing technique kept me intrigued from beginning to end.

Review: GelPro Mat

For those of you who don't know, I was in a pretty bad car wreck in 2005 and ever since then I have suffered from severe back pain. Lately, I have realized how much of a difference it can make on your entire body when you stand on something that offers support.

The GelPro Mat is a life saver! I enjoy cooking and baking and that used to be impossible. After standing for about two minutes, I would feel my back tense up and when that happens, I'm not sure I'll be able to walk straight again. I'm 27 and there are times when I get hunched over and I can't even walk. With the GelPro Mat I am able to stand for longer periods of time. I'm not saying that it allows me to stay on my feet for hours but it does give me 30-40 minutes which is awesome!

Available Fabrics:

Basketweave
Pebble
Trellis
Wicker
Flora
Cordoba
Ostrich
Straited
Crocodile
Rattlesnake

I received the 20" x 36" GelPro Mat - Pebble - Pomegranate to review and it looks gorgeous in my kitchen. While my feet are on the mat, it almost feels like a little massage. You can feel the gel in there and it's divine!

Mats start at $69.95

Tarps

I can still remember the bike I got when I was in sixth grade.  It was purple with hints of pink and green.  I thought it was the coolest bike in the whole world.  I took really good care of it and my parents went out and bought a
blue tarp just for the bikes my sister and I had.

tarps come in really hand for a lot of things, like bikes, cars, pools, etc.  It would be nice to use a tarp in the winter if you don't have a garage or carport.  I'm thinking about getting one for wintertime.  I hate scraping and brushing.  With my luck though, the tarp would get stuck to my car and I wouldn't be able to get it off.

Review: Saint Francis Couture

What girl doesn't like a new pair of shoes and a matching purse?  I love animal print styles but as an animal lover, I don't purchase animal print unless it's man made so to speak.  Tere, the creator of Saint Francis Couture is named after Saint Francis because he is the patron saint of animals.  "I thought the world needed some high fashion, moderately priced, comfortable, but sexy, shoes and accessories that were cruelty free," said Tere. "So I started drawing. Saint Francis must have helped me because I had no idea how to draw."

I don't have the balance to wear heels.  I've tried and I end up looking like one of those klutzy girls who fall all over the place.  These gorgeous African Sandal Wedge is comfy and trendy all at the same time.  The open toe is nice because you can show off painted toenails.  The wedges look great with a pair of jeans or something dressy.  The thing that shocked me the most about these sandals is how comfortable they are.  Every lady needs a pair!

Rubber sole
2" wedge
Sizes: 6-12 in whole & half sizes
Price: $62.00

The African Clutch Bag is great for a girls night out.  It's small but practical.  Have you ever noticed that the bigger the purse is, the more useless stuff is in it?  I switched from a pretty large bag over to this purse and I realized how much stuff I didn't need to cart around with me everywhere I go.  I love the Saint Francis Couture Signature Noah's Arc Logo with Swarovski Crystal Accent.

Price: $54.00
8" Wide X 5" Tall X 3" Deep
Removable shoulder strap goes from 24" to 48"

By purchasing products from this company, you are giving to an animal welfare organization.

Review: Grey Pine by T. Lloyd Winetsky

Phillip didn't have the picture perfect childhood. His father is in love with the bottle and his mom passed away. When Mount Saint Helen erupts, Philips first thought is to learn everything he can about this massive outburst as he can. The disaster hits home and from that point on he finds himself in situations he never could have fathomed.

Phillip is one of those characters that feels oh-so-real. He's the type of person that you can relate to and one who you can't help but like right off the bat. I give this book two thumbs up!

Tiles

For the most part, I prefer Tiles over carpet.  Most of my opinion comes from having severe allergies and carpet actually makes them worse.  Well, that's what my allergy doctor told me when I was really young.  I also like the appearance of Tiles over carpet.

It is so much easier to use a broom and mop than a vacuum and shampooer.  This is probably due to my back pain and vacuums and shampooers are a lot heavier than a mop and broom.  I checked out some of the Subway tiles and while they are nice, I don't feel that they are right for my home decoration.

Car Repairs

I don't know a lot when it comes to cars.  I know what I like when I see it and that's about it.  I don't know much about under the hood or anything like that.  I do know where to put the gas, windshield washer fluid and where the fuses are.  Oh, and I know how to change a tire.  Other than that I'm totally clueless.  When I need a tune-up or a brake job I take in to a mechanic.  If you live in the Dallas area, visit Dallas auto repair to find a repair shop.

My husband has been dreaming of getting a truck.  We saw a Chevrolet Silverado the other day and I told him that as long as we get a truck, van or SUV, I'll be happy.  I don't want a car because I feel like everything is too small.  I like to be up higher and I'm able to see more.

PRESS RELEASE: Children’s Literary Sensation Horrid Henry Heads to the Big Screen in Live Action 3D

(Naperville, IL)-Independent publisher Sourcebooks is thrilled to share the news that Horrid Henry, the title character in the global bestselling children’s chapter book series which has sold more than 16 million copies in 27 languages, is set to star in a 3D live-action film.

Vertigo Films and Novel Entertainment have announced the production of a 3D live-action movie based on Novel’s hugely successful children’s property Horrid Henry. Vertigo, producers of Europe’s first 3D feature film and box office smash Street Dance 3D, will producer the live action feature with the same 3D team Paradise FX Europe. The film will be a co-production between Vertigo Films and Novel Entertainment.

Nick Moore, the highly respected British director and editor, has been signed as the film’s director. Casting has already begun, with filming scheduled to take place during October and November this year. The film, to be shot entirely on location in the UK, is slated for release in 2011.

Sourcebooks is the North American publisher of the bestselling Horrid Henry children’s chapter book series, created by American-born author Francesca Simon. The company introduced Horrid Henry to U.S. readers last April and it was the #1 children’s chapter book launch of 2009. The latest release, Horrid Henry and the Abominable Snowman, is slated for publication in August 2010. Horrid Henry and the Abominable Snowman was the Galaxy British Book Award’s Best Children's Book of the Year in 2008 (the “Oscars” of the book world). Francesca Simon is the only American author ever to have won; past winners include JK Rowling.

The live-action 3D adventure stars Horrid Henry, Lord High Majesty of the Purple Hand Gang, as he wages his ever constant battle against the tyranny of adults. Although this time, it seems the adults are really out to get him, forcing him into an unlikely alliance with his irritating brother Perfect Peter and the infuriating girl next door, Moody Margaret.

Lucinda Whiteley, co-producer for Novel Entertainment and screenplay writer for the movie, says “We’re delighted to be bringing Henry to life, in the truest sense of the word-for so many kids Henry already exists, but seeing him up on the big screen gives them the chance to meet their hero face to face.”

Nick Moore’s directorial debut came on the teenage film Wild Child (2008) and he just finished working on the new Harrison Ford movie Morning Glory, to be release later this year. Moore received a Bafta nomination for Best Editing on The Full Monty, and has since edited a number of iconic British films including About A Boy, Notting Hill, Love Actually and Nanny McPhee.

Vertigo Films will also distribute in the UK with Protagonist Pictures taking international sales.

Review: Jenulence Makeup

I have super sensitive skin and I can't even tell you the number of times my skin has ended up with a ton of itchy red bumps. I am so glad that mineral makeup is available because I haven't found a brand of mineral powder that breaks me out. Plus, it feels so much lighter. My skin can actually breathe.

Jenulence has some awesome Sea Shell Mineral Foundation Powder that makes me over perfectly. I have really fair skin and an uneven skin tone. This product worked wonders on my face, let me tell you. I didn't have one of those annoying makeup lines that liquid foundation can give you.

Price: $20 for 0.03 kg

I liked that this particular bronzer gave off a fresh look, rather than having a shimmery look.  There are times when I like shimmer on my face but for normal, everyday stuff, I prefer my skin to look silky, smooth.  The Warm Light Tan Bronzer is a great bronzer that feels light on your skin.

Price: $10 for 0.02kg

I do like shimmery eyeshadow for everyday use because it helps make my eyes "pop".  I have brown eyes and people with brown eyes are supposed to use shades of purple to bring out their eyes.  I liked how the Mineral Makeup Eyeshadow in violet shimmer went on and stayed on.  The color really did compliment my eyes.  I did have a little bit of trouble because little flakes would fall under my eye, but that happens anytime I use a eye shadow brush.

Price: $6.00 for 0.02 kg

Sometimes I like to wear darker eyeshadow so I tried the Mineral Makeup Eye Shadow in Indigo Matte and it looks so good on me! I think it was made just for me.  I absolutely love this color!

Price: $6.00 for 0.02 kg
