Description*
A dystopian world with an oppressive government controlled by the Patrician, its ruthless leader, and the Watchman - a secret police.
The Watchman Wreak Havoc...
A large poster near the Watchmen’s headquarters simply read, “THE WATCHMEN ARE WATCHING YOU!”
The House of Fate
Inside an old gothic mansion, Death meets with his father Fate. “Someone has cheated me,” Fate informs his son. Fate has a plan. “The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference. Wake up, Akea, and see the truth.”
The Power and the Fury
Akea was alone; no one could stop or control him. His released fury seemed limitless. A wave of energy rolled over the Watchmen, like energy from an atom bomb rolled up into a small white ribbon.
Akea and Argonath
Some distance ahead, Akea saw something. It looked like a house-sized boulder. On closer inspection, he realized it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Argonath, a dragon, sat watching the three men approach her.
The Cost of Freedom
Captain Seadak walked between the turrets and steadied his men. They hated this post, yet each one stood his ground, burying his fear.
“This is about our children having a home and knowing freedom. We stand here and fight for freedom. That is our glory. This is our time. I want all of you to fight like animals and as fearlessly as dragons. And, tomorrow our children will be free.”

Lately I have been all about sci-fi and fantasy. This book swept me off my feet and took me to another world. It's one of those books that you when you get to the last page you're mind starts replaying the whole book in your mind. John has a knack for fantasy and I'm sure he will be writing many more books as good as this one.
