Review: My Fair Lazy by Jen Lancaster
Jen spills all in her memoir My Fair Lazy. Choosing to sit back and laugh at others on reality television shows. When she decides to sit the remote down, turn off the TV and venture out into the real world to see what life is like on that side.
Her attempts for a cultural makeover make for a very entertaining read. She takes you along to experience her many adventures including theater, dance, poetry and more. She is a very talented writer whose voice begs to be heard. She's on my favorite authors list now.

Review & Giveaway: Just Like Me, Only Better by Carol Snow
When Veronica's husband leaves her for a woman who is rolling in the dough with her realtor work. Veronica is struggling with only a substitute teaching position, she has no idea how she is going to survive. When a young starlets manager sees Veronica, he is taken aback because of how much she resembles his client, Haley Rush. When he offers her $100 an hour just to pretend to be Haley for some photo shoots, she takes him up on his offer. It's fun at first but all good things must come to an end.
I loved this book! I totally connected with Veronica because she's such a lovable character. This is a fast read so I suggest making sure you can read it all in one sitting because you won't want to put it down.

WANTED: Crazy School by Cornelia Read
Synopsis (taken from here):
From the acclaimed author of A FIELD OF DARKNESS comes another compelling novel featuring the acerbic and memorable voice of ex-debutante Madeline Dare.
Madeline Dare has finally escaped rust-belt Syracuse, New York, for the lush BerkshireMountains in Massachusetts. After her husband's job offer falls through, Maddie signs on as a teacher at the SantangeloAcademy, a boarding school for disturbed teenagers. Behind the academy's ornate gates, she discovers a disturbing realm where students and teachers alike must submit to the founder's bizarre therapeutic regimen. From day one, Maddie feels uneasy about smooth-talking Dr. Santangelo but when she questions his methods, she's appalled to find that her fellow teachers would rather turn on each other than stand up for themselves, much less protect the students in their care. A chilling event confirms Maddie's worst suspicions, then hints at an even darker secret history, one that twines through the academy's very heart. Cut off from the outside world, Maddie must join forces with a small band of the school's most violently rebellious students-kids whose troubled grip on reality may well prove to be her only chance of salvation.

Review: Future Hope by David Gelber
It's the year 2156 and humanity is not the same. Dr. Tennyson has found the formula for Interdimensional Transport Protocol (ITP). This will give humanity the ability to explore the universe and gather the supplies to sustain an ever growing population. Everything seems to be going fine when Major Sanders takes flight. He's so happy about the doors that this stint will open for him. Little did he know, he was about to get stranded.
I was blown away by this book. The ideas and how they were written was very unique. This David's first novel and I can already see his name on the bestseller's lists.

The Bride Collector by Ted Dekker
Full Description (taken from here):
FBI Special agent Brad Raines is facing his toughest case yet. A Denver serial killer has killed four beautiful young women, leaving a bridal veil at each crime scene, and he's picking up his pace. Unable to crack the case, Raines appeals for help from a most unusual source: residents of the Center for Wellness and Intelligence, a private psychiatric institution for mentally ill individuals whose are extraordinarily gifted.
It's there that he meets Paradise, a young woman who witnessed her father murder her family and barely escaped his hand. Diagnosed with schizophrenia, Paradise may also have an extrasensory gift: the ability to experience the final moments of a person's life when she touches the dead body.
In a desperate attempt to find the killer, Raines enlists Paradise's help. In an effort to win her trust, he befriends this strange young woman and begins to see in her qualities that most 'sane people' sorely lack. Gradually, he starts to question whether sanity resides outside the hospital walls...or inside.
As the Bride Collector picks up the pace-and volume-of his gruesome crucifixions, the case becomes even more personal to Raines when his friend and colleague, a beautiful young forensic psychologist, becomes the Bride Collector's next target.
The FBI believes that the killer plans to murder seven women. Can Paradise help before it's too late?

Review & Giveaway: Flawless by Scott Andrew Selby & Greg Campbell
A group of thieves pulled off a perfect robbery in 2003. The alarms didn't trip and no one was injured. Making it out with over one hundred million dollars in diamonds and jewels. The police were able to find out who the culprits were but they were baffled by how the heist went so smoothly. The big dog of the group was an Italian man named Leonardo who worked out of a Diamond Center office. Scott, a law graduate and Greg, an author, teamed up to find out what really happened during one of the most notorious robberies ever.
This book is brilliantly written and reads like an awesome action movie. I'm a sucker for true crime and Flawless really is flawless.

Sonnets For Sinners by John Wareham
Sonnets For Sinners is a fun, poetic display of couples and their sexual indiscretions. There isn't a lot that I can tell you about the book because I can't bear to spoil anything for those of you who are interested in reading it. I will say that it is a steamy little treat for those who like a quick read.

Jordan by Susan Kearney
Vivianne is more interested in advancing her business life. As she is concentrating on her latest project, she soon finds that Jordan is cramping her lifestyle, both professionally and personally.
Jordan is desperately searching for the key to save an entire galaxy. Will he be able to halt the growing desire he feels for Vivianne in order to stop chaos or will the two give in to their carnal needs and damn themselves along with those who are depending on them?
I really enjoyed reading this book. I love the "world is going to end but there is still time to find true love" books, especially those that are well written. I have been and will always be a fan of Susan's. If you like to read books full of suspense, romance and paranormal, then the Pendragon Series is calling your name.

WANTED: Hush by Kate White
Synopsis (taken from here):
New York Times bestselling author and Cosmopolitan's editor-in-chief returns with a sizzling, page-turning thriller in which an ordinary woman flees the scene of a murder—and realizes it's not just the law that's hunting her.
When Lake Warren learns that her husband, Jack, is suing for full custody of their two kids four months after their separation, she's pretty certain that things can't get any worse. The upside is that she's working with the Advanced Fertility Center as a marketing consultant, alongside the attractive, flirtatious Dr. Keaton. But the morning after their one-night stand, Lake finds Keaton with his throat slashed and discovers that things can indeed become worse—they can become deadly.
So as not to jeopardize her case for custody, Lake is forced to lie to the police. Having just been intimate with a man who has been murdered, and wanting to protect herself from being charged with the crime, she begins her own search for the truth. Meanwhile, the police start looking at her closely, people at the clinic start treating her with hostility, and strange clues begin dropping—quite literally—on her doorstep, and Lake realizes that she is dangerously close to dark secrets, both about Keaton and the clinic. But can Lake stop what she's started before it's too late?

Countess of Scandal by Laurel McKee
Children often think that they will keep the same friends all throughout their life. Sometimes, life has different ideas and two are torn apart as they begin to age. This was what happened to Eliza and William. Eliza stayed in Ireland but William was taken to England.
Years later, William returns, an English soldier, who is ordered to eliminate the Irish rebellion. Eliza has joined the Irish cause and William is torn between his duty and his heart.
I love a good, sappy romance story that puts two lovers in a tight spot. Laurel's impeccable writing skills shine all through this book.

Love in 90 Days by Diana Kirschner Ph.D.
I never really had a problem finding guys. My problem was finding a good guy. Even though I am happily married, I still want to learn all that I can because I want this love to last forever. One thing that was difficult for me was learning to love myself. How can you expect someone to fall in love with you if you don't think that you are worthy of love? Understanding yourself is the key to learning what you want and need out of a relationship. This book is a great guide to loving yourself, your friends and a lover.
The step-by-step instructions are easy to understand but aren't always easy to follow. The heart has different ideas than the brain and one thing you can take away from this book is knowing that the heart and the brain must reach a common ground before a relationship can blossom.
I really liked this book because Diana talks to you like a friend. She doesn't make you feel stupid and she truly understands how important love is in life.

Worst Case by James Patterson
A child has been kidnapped. Instead of holding the child for ransom, the kidnapper asks questions about how much money others are paying for this family to live a lifestyle of the rich and famous. The right answer means the child lives, the wrong answer can only end in death. Can the detective on the case, Michael Bennett, track down the culprit before the parents give the wrong answer to a question?
James Patterson is one of my favorite authors of all time. His books are always filled with the perfect amount of suspense and surprise. Michael Bennett is definitely a detective I would want working my case.
