For The Love Of Books #Giveaway: Moonlight in the Morning by Jude Deveraux

ABOUT THE BOOK:

In an all-new trilogy set in blissful Edilean, Virginia, Jude Deveraux weaves together the tales of three young women, best friends since college, and the lives, loves, and dreams that await them.

Sparks are flying between Jecca Layton and Dr. Tristan Aldredge. At the urging of her dear friend Kim, Jecca put the ruthless New York City art world on hold to spend the summer pursuing her passion for painting while enjoying Edilean’s tightly knit artistic community. For years, Kim’s cousin Tris—the town’s handsome and dedicated doctor—felt a deep connection to Kim’s college “sister” Jecca, though they had met only once before; now, Jecca is swept off her feet by this strong, sensitive man in a summer of sensual delights. But when long shadows announce Jecca’s return to “real life” and the big city, the lovers must decide: Can they survive the distance? And who will sacrifice the life they’ve created for themselves to be together?

Review: Tall, Dark and Wolfish by Lydia Dare

Benjamin is a werewolf who no longer feels like the man he used to be. He has never had a problem with the transformation before but he now fears that he has lost this amazing ability. He goes out in search of a witch who can mend his tragic state by giving him his old life back. It seems that having his powers stripped away set his life into motion in ways that he would never have imagined. He meets Elspeth, a witch, who captures his heart and their meeting was anything but coincidence.

I enjoyed the first book in the series and I actually liked this one more. Benjamin's sexiness leaps off the page and you can't help but wish you were Elspeth. Anyone who enjoys werewolves would enjoy this book.

Review & Giveaway: Forbidden Passion by Rita Herron

Devious crimes are present anywhere and everywhere. Dr. Marlena knows this fact better than most because her she lost her family to murder. In an attempt to wrap her mind around the thought patterns of violent people, she tries to understand the reason behind the act.

When a killer decides to drop off his dead victims right on Marlena's doorstep she is once again facing the Sheriff who responsible for saving her life many years ago. Dante, the Sheriff, is far from the savior she thinks he is. Will he be able to protect her as he did before or will the truth come out and destroy them both?

Forbidden Passion is one of those books that reminds me why I love a good romance. The chemistry is there and you can feel it through the pages. This is why Rita is on my favorite authors list.

FIVE FUN FACTS*:

1. One of my favorite memories as a child was camping in the Tennessee mountains. The sharp ridges and isolated forests were beautiful and filled with hidden mysteries. Once a grizzly bear wandered into our camp, and I was terrified he was going to eat me. I also imagined that other creatures, maybe even monsters, lived in those forests. Those experiences inspired the small town of Mystic, Tennessee where I set Forbidden Passion.

In Forbidden Passion, Marlena loved camping in the woods as well. That is, until the day her family was attacked and murdered by monsters in the woods – monsters that were real demons!

2. When I was pondering where Dante would live, I knew his home had to be isolated. He virtually needed a fortress from the demons, so carving his house into the mountain seemed ideal. Then I remembered seeing a solar house built underground in the mountains, and I knew that house was perfect for Dante.

3. Although I set this book in the mountains, I wrote the first half of it while staying in a beach house on the Isle of Palms. The beach is my other favorite getaway! So while I wrote about the spooky mountains, I listened to the ocean waves lapping against the shore and watched the calming sunset flicker off the jetty. It was the best of both worlds!

4. I wanted to add another layer of conflict to the final book of this trilogy and heighten the tension and danger as Dante joined with his brothers to fight their father. During the course of the book, Georgia (my home state) experienced flooding unlike anything we’d ever seen. Stories of Katrina, the tsunami, tornadoes, and earthquakes reminded me how nature poses its own conflict and danger. Those natural disasters inspired me to use the “elements” in the story as demons!

5. I visited the dead for this story. Well, not actually visited, but around Christmas time, a group of writer friends of mine and I took a tour of a local morgue. We called it our Holly Jolly Morgue tour. Although there was nothing jolly about it. In fact, at lunch afterward, everyone admitted that they hadn’t been able to eat before going!

Review: A Certain Wolfish Charm by Lydia Dare

Lily's sister was married to Simon's brother and when their lives ended, their son Oliver was left in their care. Lily has been raising Oliver as if he is her own son but when he undergoes some drastic behavior changes, she write to Simon because she thinks what Oliver is going through is because he is male. Lily has no idea what to do. After many unanswered letters, she decides to drop in on the Simon and force him to speak to her. None of them could have imagined how much they would come to rely on one another.

I can never get enough paranormal romance. I enjoyed this book but there were a few times I had to put it down because I just couldn't get myself into it. That could have just been my mood though. If you're a romance fan, you will most likely enjoy reading A Certain Wolfish Charm.

Review: Flirting With Forever by Gwyn Cready

Cam is writing a book about 17th century painters and she's calling it "fictogrophies".  As an art historian, Cam does know a thing or two about the great artists she is focusing on.  Some would say that she knows a little too much.  What's a girl supposed to do with a newly found time portal?

At first I thought that this would be a tad bit corny - I like corny, so that was why I agreed to review this book.  It wasn't quite what I expected, it was better.  I wonder if Cam will show me this time portal...  It's a really fun read, especially if you're looking for a romance book that is unlike any other.

Countess of Scandal by Laurel McKee

Children often think that they will keep the same friends all throughout their life. Sometimes, life has different ideas and two are torn apart as they begin to age. This was what happened to Eliza and William. Eliza stayed in Ireland but William was taken to England.

Years later, William returns, an English soldier, who is ordered to eliminate the Irish rebellion. Eliza has joined the Irish cause and William is torn between his duty and his heart.

I love a good, sappy romance story that puts two lovers in a tight spot. Laurel's impeccable writing skills shine all through this book.

Ecstacy Unveiled by Larissa Ione

Lore is killer but not by choice. The half demon must do as his master asks whether he wants to or not. He desperately wants freedom and that wish will be granted as soon as he finishes off one last kill for his master.

Idess is an angel and it's her job to protect a human. Not just any human, but the human that Lore has been told to terminate.

Both are dedicated to the task and unwilling to give up. Idess decides to use the art of seduction and before they know it, they are wrapped in each other physically and mentally. They started out as opponents but ended up wanting the same thing. Each other.

When another enemy shows up, Lore and Idess work together with a common goal: staying alive.

I love it when I find a series that lives up to my expectations. The Demonica series has never let me down and I can't wait to read more of Larissa's work. If you like steamy passion, this is a great pick.

The Legend Of The White Wolf by Terry Spear

Cameron's friends went hunting but they should have been back by now. When Cameron decides to search for them, he encounters something unbelievable.

Faith's father told stories of "man-wolves" and Faith is determined to find out the truth. Is her father off his rocker or do they really exist?

Cameron and Faith meet and the sparks fly. While searching, they find a group of people who want to slaughter the werewolves. The problem is, Cameron and Faith are part of the werewolf species. Will the wolves be able escape the hunters or will werewolves be added to the endangered species list?

The boat belongs to Logan and he cannot believe his luck. Like any good father, Logan wants to give his son Michael what he wants most in the world. It just so happens that what Michael wants has found it's way into Logan's boat. That's right, Michael wants a real mermaid. This couldn't have worked out more perfectly. Angel is ready to recruit people to fight for her cause and Logan might be the inspiration she needs to get started. The more Logan and Angel learn about each other, the more they realize that they are kindred spirits. When Angel's life is in jeopardy, Logan must decide between the comfort and familiarity of singleness or to give his all for the woman he loves.

I'm addicted! I loved the creativity that was necessary to write such a book. Judi is a master of romance and fantasy. If you are a fan of romance and want something different than your average human loving human story, I recommend Judi's books.

Blog Tour: Gentlemen Prefer Succubi by Jill Myles

You thought your day started off on the wrong foot. Try waking up in a dumpster with bigger boobs and an unstoppable sex drive. That's what happened to Jackie. She's just experienced her first one-night stand and to make things more complicated, she slept with a fallen angel named Noah.

To make things even more interesting, she's been changed into a sire and wants to roll in the sack 24/7. Noah tries to help Jackie deal with her new body and cravings but then he ends up battling a vampire, the same vampire who turned Jackie. This is when the story gets a lot more interesting.

There was so much going on in this book that I couldn't put it down. I love a good Paranormal Romance and this one definitely gets five stars.
