Review & Giveaway: 360-Degree Life: Ten Ways You Can Live More Richly, Deeply, Fully

Billy Joe's book gives insight to help readers look at life from every angle as a Christian. The Bible written so long ago that it's sometimes hard to incorporate it into everyday life. Billy Joe has taken the time to put together key parts of the Bible that relate to millions of people everyday. The one thing that is always constant is that God loves you and He has plans for you.

This book will be very useful for some people. It is written in a way that will help both new Christians and people who have been a believer for a long period of time. There were some parts of the book that I thought were a little dry but overall it was a decent read.

Review: Arch Angels

Arch Angels are the first insoles made for children's feet. Doctors and other professionals created this product to help children feel more comfortable. I can remember being a kid and I would not stop playing for anything. It didn't matter if my feet were killing me, I was having too much fun. I wish that this product had been around when I was a child.

I buy special inserts for my shoes to help my feet, why shouldn't the same be done for a child who is more active than most adults? The outer foam is comfortable and firm. You can wash the insoles by hand as needed. Arch Angels fit into most shoes and can be moved from shoe to shoe. Each pair covers two full sizes, so they should last for a while. They range in price from $16.99 to $18.99.

Arch Angels® Sizes:

XS - US Toddler 6-8 (EU Size 22,23,24)

S - US Toddler 9-10 (EU Size 25,26,27)

M - US Children 11-12 (EU Size 28,29)

YS - US Youth 13-1 (EU Size 30,31)

YM - US Youth 2-3 (EU Size 32,33)

Review: The Lovely Bones on DVD

This movie wasn't one of my favorites but it wasn't horrible either. I felt like some parts dragged on for way too long. It had a great plot though. This is a movie that I watch once and most likely will never watch again.

Inground Swimming Pools

We have had some nice weather her lately and it's already got me thinking about swimming. When I was younger and had no responsibilities I was pretty much a fish. It would be really cool to have pool right in my back yard. There is so much work that goes into it and I would only hire a company who has a good track record with the Better Business Bureau.

Elite Pools offers a lot of really great tips and they will even take your questions. Another good resource is aqua magazine. I don't know anything about graduate level pool building but if we ever decide to put in a pool, I'll try to learn everything I can so I can be better prepared.

Review: The 9th Judgment by James Patterson

Lindsey is once again faced with a psychopath killer is not only ruthless, he's smart too. His prey of choice? Women and their child. He gets them when they least expect it. His signature is a cryptic message and Lindsey knows right away that this wasn't just some random act of violence.

On the night of the first mother-child murder, a man and his wife's home is broken into, jewelry is stolen from a safe and the wife has dead. Does this case have anything to do with the murders? How many more people have to die before this puzzle is pieced together?

I'm a huge fan of James Patterson and the Woman's Murder Club. I enjoyed reading this book but I felt like it was a little bland, not as intriguing as most of his books.

Review & Giveaway: Tropical Traditions Organic Natural Soap

I am totally loving the Virgin Coconut Oil products from Tropical Traditions. I received the Organic Natural Soap and it feels really different from other soaps. It's foamy, cleans really well and doesn't dry out your skin. My mom doesn't normally like to try new things. She usually sticks to what she knows but she is so impressed with this soap and other products made from 100% Virgin Coconut Oil that she's trying everything that I get from Tropical Traditions.

Tropical Traditions soaps are made with Organic Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil as their base, and the scented varieties use only high-quality organic essential oils. There are very few soaps made from 100% coconut oil, and most soaps on the market today that are made from coconut oil are made from highly refined versions of these oils, and may contain chemical solvents that were used in the refining process. Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil is traditionally made from fresh organic coconuts, and independent laboratory tests show that it has a higher level of antioxidants than other coconut oils. While other coconut oil soaps may exist in the market place containing refined coconut oil, few if any will be made with high quality Organic Virgin Coconut Oil.

Review & Giveaway: Tropical Traditions Powdered Laundry Detergent

Tropical Traditions Powdered Laundry Detergent works wonders! I have sensitive skin and I've learned that natural products are better all the way around. The powdered laundry detergent is better at caring for my clothes than any other detergent. I'm a bit messy (OK, a lot messy). I'll pull a shirt out of the closet and see a stain that I somehow missed. I stuck one of my shirts in the washer a couple hours after I spilled sweet and sour sauce on it and it came right out. There was no little hint that it was there, it disappeared! This product just reinforces my opinion of Tropical Traditions. They have yet to fail me and after all the products I have tried, I don't think that is even possible.

Safe and effective on all temperatures for:

Whites
Permanent Press
Bright Colors
Pastels
Prints
Delicates

Tropical Traditions Powdered Laundry Detergent is non-toxic, environmentally safe and contains no phosphates. Powdered Laundry Detergent cleans and safely bleaches your clothes with the added power of Oxygen Bleach Destainer and Deodorizer.

Review & Giveaway: Forbidden Passion by Rita Herron

Devious crimes are present anywhere and everywhere. Dr. Marlena knows this fact better than most because her she lost her family to murder. In an attempt to wrap her mind around the thought patterns of violent people, she tries to understand the reason behind the act.

When a killer decides to drop off his dead victims right on Marlena's doorstep she is once again facing the Sheriff who responsible for saving her life many years ago. Dante, the Sheriff, is far from the savior she thinks he is. Will he be able to protect her as he did before or will the truth come out and destroy them both?

Forbidden Passion is one of those books that reminds me why I love a good romance. The chemistry is there and you can feel it through the pages. This is why Rita is on my favorite authors list.

FIVE FUN FACTS*:

1. One of my favorite memories as a child was camping in the Tennessee mountains. The sharp ridges and isolated forests were beautiful and filled with hidden mysteries. Once a grizzly bear wandered into our camp, and I was terrified he was going to eat me. I also imagined that other creatures, maybe even monsters, lived in those forests. Those experiences inspired the small town of Mystic, Tennessee where I set Forbidden Passion.

In Forbidden Passion, Marlena loved camping in the woods as well. That is, until the day her family was attacked and murdered by monsters in the woods – monsters that were real demons!

2. When I was pondering where Dante would live, I knew his home had to be isolated. He virtually needed a fortress from the demons, so carving his house into the mountain seemed ideal. Then I remembered seeing a solar house built underground in the mountains, and I knew that house was perfect for Dante.

3. Although I set this book in the mountains, I wrote the first half of it while staying in a beach house on the Isle of Palms. The beach is my other favorite getaway! So while I wrote about the spooky mountains, I listened to the ocean waves lapping against the shore and watched the calming sunset flicker off the jetty. It was the best of both worlds!

4. I wanted to add another layer of conflict to the final book of this trilogy and heighten the tension and danger as Dante joined with his brothers to fight their father. During the course of the book, Georgia (my home state) experienced flooding unlike anything we’d ever seen. Stories of Katrina, the tsunami, tornadoes, and earthquakes reminded me how nature poses its own conflict and danger. Those natural disasters inspired me to use the “elements” in the story as demons!

5. I visited the dead for this story. Well, not actually visited, but around Christmas time, a group of writer friends of mine and I took a tour of a local morgue. We called it our Holly Jolly Morgue tour. Although there was nothing jolly about it. In fact, at lunch afterward, everyone admitted that they hadn’t been able to eat before going!

WANTED: When In Rome on DVD

Read the description for When In Rome - DVD

Krista saw this movie and she really enjoyed it, so it probably sucks. (Just kidding Krista - no I'm not blog readers, LOL). Even if it does suck, I think I could handle 90 minutes staring at Josh Duhamel.

3D TV

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of goviral. All opinions are 100% mine.

TV's just keep getting better and better.  The improvements have been enormous!  We went from black and white to color to Projector screens to Plasma to LCD and now you can get a Samsung 3D TV.  I keep seeing that different movies have are available in 3D and I think that is amazing!  What better way to watch a movie than to be in it?  I knew that one day this would be possible and of course now I want to run out to the store and buy one.  I have a very active imagination but it would be nice to just sit back and watch and give my imagination a break.  With the Samsung 3D TV, you can convert 2D movies into 3D.  I can't wait to watch Star Wars, Twilight and Lord of the Rings in 3D.  Once my husband and I are able to go 3D, I know there will be no going back.  We really won't have any need for going to the movie theater with this TV.  Except of course for the Twilight movies because I have to see them as soon as they come out.  Just think about seeing Edward and Jacob in 3D!

Review: Black Smoke by Robin Leigh Miller

Samantha hasn't had an easy life. Actually, that is an understatement. Samantha lost both of her parents at the hands of a murder and she nearly shared their fate. How did she survive while her parents did not? A spirit helped her escape and now the spirit is working through Samantha to help others in similar situations. Everything is going well until she has to help a military team who do not want a beautiful woman distracting their rescue tactics and saving a scientist in Afghanistan. Can Sam keep her eye on her mission or will she succumb to the desires of a lieutenant?

I believe in spirit guides which was the main reason that I wanted to read this book. There have been way too many powerful occurrences in my life and I know that I couldn't have made it out alone. Also, my husband served in Afghanistan (and I know that angels must have been looking over him) so I enjoyed reading a book that struck close to home. Robin was able to grasp a woman's emotion, when loving a soldier, perfectly.

PRESS RELEASE: INDOOR AIR POLLUTION “HAS REACHED EPIDEMIC LEVELS” SAYS THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY

INDOOR AIR POLLUTION “HAS REACHED EPIDEMIC LEVELS” SAYS THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
Expert Has Tips on How to Defeat this Increasing Health Risk

Indoor air pollution can threaten the health -- and the lives -- of everyone in your family.

There isn’t a confined space that can avoid the problem. In fact, indoor air pollution, building-related illness, and "sick building syndrome" have received increased attention over the last several years.

The Environmental Protection Agency says the quality of indoor air can be many times worse than outdoor air. EPA declared things are getting worse, saying, “indoor air pollution has reached epidemic levels”. Along with help from the EPA, the American Lung Association conducted a report identifying “… indoor air quality as one of the top five most urgent environmental risks to public health”.

Indoor air pollution contains 70 times the pollutants of outside air. Naturally, people who have respiratory diseases are at greater risk. Indoor air quality can affect people's long and short term health and can have economic and legal implications.

Effects/causes of the indoor air quality issues (According to the EPA):
· watery eyes

· Frequent colds

· Lack of energy

· Sore throats

· Chronic fatigue

· Digestive problems

· Headaches

· Asthma

· Allergies

· Pneumonia (including Legionnaire’s Disease, which can be fatal in people over the age of 50).

· Tuberculosis

· And more

American adults spend about 90% of their time indoors, and thanks to our more tightly insulated/sealed homes and workplaces, the concentration of pollutants indoors may be even higher than outdoors.

Tom Scalera, owner of Stanley Steemer of South Florida, http://www.steemerofsouthflorida.com/, has become an expert on this issue and getting rid of it. His franchise specializes in removing those indoor pollutants. He has invested a lot of money into the indoor air quality issue, including buying a $100,000, top of the line truck, that is entirely focused on cleaning up indoor pollutants. There is believed to be only a handful of these trucks along the entire eastern seaboard.

Tom’s Tips for a healthier indoor air environment within your home:

1) Declare your home a Smoke-Free home. Most of us have heard about the dangers of second hand smoke. (Smokers Please Smoke Outside)
2) Good ventilation reduces indoor air pollution. So leave doors between rooms open for better air circulation. Open windows when possible on low humidity days to allow for a good supply of outdoor air.
3) Keep humidity levels low with a dehumidifier or air conditioner. Have them cleaned regularly so they do not become a source encourages the growth of mold and other biological pollutants. NADCA, the National Association of Duct Cleaning, recommends inspection of the HVAC or air conditioning ventilation system yearly. Periodic cleaning of the air conditioner, including the coil, blower motor and drain pan can reduce the amount of pollutants in your home.
4) Change or clean your air conditioner filter regularly. Use a filter which can remove smaller size particles (microns) from the air.
5) Wash bedding material once a week in a hot water (at least 130 degrees) to keep dust mites and other allergens to a minimum.
6) Brush your dog or cat outside regularly. This helps minimize the pet dander within your home.
7) Check commercial cleaning products and pesticides for toxic ingredients. Use these products in a well ventilated area. Consider using less toxic alternatives.
8) Clean carpet and upholstery on a regular basis. They are the biggest filter that you have in your house and capture many particulants and biological pollutants.

Review: Sherlock Holmes on DVD

Product Description*

The hangman did his job, Dr. Watson declared the condemned man dead...yet Lord Blackwood has emerged from the tomb to assert his deadly will over 1890 London. Is he in league with the forces of hell itself? Is the whole Empire in peril? It's a mystery macabre--and only Sherlock Holmes can master it.

Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law put memorable imprints on Holmes and Watson in this bold new reimagining that makes the legendary sleuth a daring man of action as well as a peerless man of intellect. Baffling clues, astonishing Holmesian deductions, nimble repartee, catch-your-breath scenes of one slam thing after another--director Guy Ritchie helms the excitement reintroducing the great detective to the world. Meet the new Sherlock Holmes!

*Taken from here.

My husband and I both thought this was one of the best movies we've seen in a long time. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law were meant for these roles. The plot was fantastic and the movie was hilarious. There was no boring pause in it like you find in some movies. I would recommend this DVD to everyone.
