Review: Blabla Dolls

Blabla has several products for children. I received DOLL Dog "Licorice", who is 22" tall, in the mail and I was impressed with both the look and feel of this doll. Blabla's collection includes:

Dolls
Rattles
Backpacks
Blankets
Mobiles
Clothing

All of their products are made of natural fibers, which is why they are so soft. Licorice was a hit with my niece!

Review & Giveaway: Bed Bouquet

Bed Bouquet is a great product for those who love smelly good things. I'm addicted to scented candles, oils, air fresheners, etc. so I really like the idea of having a scent that is easy to smell while sleeping. I noticed an improvement in my sleep the first night we used this. I definitely had a deeper sleep experience.

Easy to use instructions:
*peel away the tab on the front of the unit to expose the fragrance vents
*remove adhesive backing and place on the mattress at the head of the mattress for a strong scent and at the foot of the mattress for just a hint of scent
*make your bed as usual

One Bed Bouquet can last up to 30 days.

With every online order, they provide a free Bed Care eBook that has a lot of great tips and ideas.

Fragrances:
Citrus
Linen Fresh
Lavender & Vanilla
Jasmine & White Rose

Bed Bouquet's site offers tips for Bedroom Design, Mattress Cleaning, Bed Bugs, and Aromatherapy.

2 of my readers will both receive a sample kit that includes 2 units each

You can get updates and fun extras on Charter’s Facebook page. One of the best parts is that you don't have to pay for this wonderful feature, it's already included with your digital price. Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I would like to take this time to tell you about a couple of organizations that are fighting the battle against breast cancer. Cyro-Cell and the National Institutes of Health are working together by researching stem cells, in the hopes of finding a cure. I had no idea that menstrual blood is has tons of stem cells which are called C'elle stem cells. These C'elle stem cells are the main focus of research at this time.

There are two places that you can make a donation of your own: C'Elle Breast Cancer Donation
and Cyro-Cell Breast Cancer Donation

Cyro-Cell is offering $50 to the Susan B. Komen Foundation for each "Protect Baby, Protect Mom" service and $25 for each "C'elle Menstration Stem Cell" service purchased.

Have you lost someone close to you because of breast cancer? I'm interested in learning more about the advances in this type of stem cell research, how about you? I really hope that scientific research will soon produce a cure so that we don't lose the women in our lives to this devastating disease. If we can find a cure for this, maybe a cure for all the other deadly diseases will be found as well.

Review & Giveaway: Pynx by Jeffrey Greene

About This Book (copied from here):
In a distant galaxy, on a very colorful planet, a brilliant purple Pynx settles into her new home in the jungle. But her noisy arrival upsets the other fanciful creatures who are already living there quite happily. When the Pynx expands her family with dozens of new babies, her neighbors are very upset. The very vocal Pynx has had this problem before, but this time, with a little luck, she finds a real home. This is a story about being tolerant, learning to appreciate differences, and about finding ways to communicate.

My Thoughts:
My nephew absolutely adored this book. He went straight too it and made me read it to him right them. The story was very entertaining and teaches a lot of about communicating. This book gets 5 stars from me and Damien.

Rub-a-dub-dub

I've always wanted a separate bath and shower. I'm a little bit of a clean freak and I normally only soak in the tub after taking a shower. I also have to take a shower after cleaning, so this doesn't usually work out too well. If I had a separate one though, my troubles would be over. My dream house will have a Frameless Shower Enclosures with chrome clamps. The Glass Steam Shower Enclosures would be my second choice. I hope to one day purchase a fixer-upper and design every room in the house the way my husband and I want it.

Review: Nibble & Kuhn by David Schmahmann

Derek is excited because he may become partner at the law firm he works for. He's also very smitten with Maria, a co-worker. The problem is, Maria plans to marry someone else. When Derek is handed a case that he can't possibly win, he begins to panic.

This is an entertaining novel that is unlike anything I've read before. Derek is an extremely lovable character whose determination can't be thwarted.

Review: Pocket Calendars

I don't know what I would do without my calendars. I have one that is specifically for book reviews, one for other reviews and one for a family schedule. I could really use one of those pocket calendars. That way I could have a calendar with me at all times. I really like the Lexington Academic and the Clifton Pocket Calendar. It's tough to keep up with everything and if I didn't write it down, it's probably not going to happen. Life gets a little hectic and I need some type of system in place or something important may slip through the cracks.

Someone is using their powers for evil and this person is not afraid to kill. Several unexplained deaths cause some of the students to follow the clues and find out who is doing this before it's too late.

This is the author's first book and I'm so excited to see what she publishes next. The author is able to capture your attention and keep it page after page.

Review: Anti Monkey Butt Powder

My husband and I helped some friends move last week. Well, pretty much, the two men did pretty much everything. Me and Krista were able to pack some items but we both have bad backs so there wasn't a whole lot we could do. And let me tell you, my friends have a butt load of stuff. Anyway, I mentioned to my husband that he should try out the Anti Monkey Butt because he was going to be working really hard.

When we got home and he took a shower, he was complaining about any uncomfortable spots. Normally after doing that much physical labor, he ends up with red splotches on his thighs. Luckily, I didn't have to listen to him complain too much. There wasn't anything I could do about the sore muscles besides give him Advil so I still had to hear about that. I'm really glad that this product worked for him. Do you think it would work for your husband, brother or friend?

Now they have Lady Anti Butt Monkey! I'm definitely going to check this out!

Review & Giveaway: Bound To Shadows by Keri Arthur

Riley is half vampire and half werewolf. She has seen a lot of senseless killings bu never anything this sadistic. The party place where vampires and humans meet up to have some fun is now a spot of terror. Someone has thought up their own party. One where the party-goers loose their head, literally. Will Riley be able to track down this killer before too many more lives are lost?

I'm a huge paranormal fan. Riley is the type of bad ass chick that I want to be in some parallel universe. This is a bloody good book!

To The Windows, To The Walls

The majority of the people I know are concerned about having an energy efficient home.  I want to make sure I'm doing all that I can for the environment, as well as saving money because you never know when you might need some extra cash.  Right now you can check out window replacement maryland and find out how you can save money by purchasing new energy efficient windows that are maintenance-free.  You can even choose between double pane or triple pane windows.  My biggest concern is a warranty because I don't want to shell out all that money without the security a warranty brings.  All American Sentry offers a lifetime service warranty.

Blog Tour: Author Melissa Burmester

Q & A

When did you know that you wanted to be a writer?

I have always written short stories since I could write. The first short story I wrote was about a horse and my brother did the drawings for the story. I never got to finish it. All my teachers said that I had a talent for writing and they encouraged me to improve my skills.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

I love Agatha Christie novels.

How do you create the characters in your books? Are they based on people you know?

When I started to write Ginger High, I started a Journal and as I jotted down my ideas the characters would just come to me. Are the characters based on people I know…? Maybe, Maybe not. LOL.

What is the one book you think everyone should read?

I just read the book Restless by Wallace. The book was really good. I think everyone should read it. It is a perfect book for someone who does not like to read long books.

If you weren’t a writer, what be your profession?

I don’t know yet. I am presently taking American Sign Language and I find the class fascinating. I know that writing can be a hard profession and you may need a second career to fall back on.

If you could trade places with anyone in the world, past or present, real or fiction, who would it be and why?

Most people are expecting me to say ‘Nobody. I love my life now’ but I want to experience someone else’s as well. I have always been fascinated by King Arthur’s time. In my novel Ginger High, the World of Animist was based on that era.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have 3 things, what would they be?

I would need water, a lot of food, and ten people to keep me company.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

Um… not Twilight like most people would say but I love you, Beth Cooper was one of my favorites

What is the one thing that you want all your fans to know?

I love you! :D Yeah, that I love them all. Even though I don’t know them but you can love someone that you don’t know

If you could invite 5 people to dinner, who would they be and why?

Huh? Lol. Um, let’s see… I would want to eat with… Hugh Laurie, Olivia Wilde, Robert Sean Leonard, definitely Michelle Trachtenberg, and my grandparents.

Review & Giveaway - Mrs. O: The Face of Fashion Democracy by Mary Tomer

I've always wanted to be fashionable but it's impossible for me. I'm the type of girl who forgets she's wearing a skirt and sits the wrong way, giving a free peep show. I'm also the type of girl that can only wear chunky heels. Me and stilettos do not mesh well. They're gorgeous and I would love to be able to strut my stuff like a model but I'm also the girl who smacks into cardboard cut-outs and trips over her own feet. It just wasn't meant to be.

Just because I lack in the fashion area doesn't mean that I don't appreciate a woman who can accessorize. The photographs in this book are pure art. I'm extremely envious of the way Michelle Obama carries herself. She is a true diva, in a good way.

Golf

I'm not really into sports. For the most part, I find them to be boring. One activity that I do like is golf. There is something relaxing about swinging a golf club. Myrtle Beach Golf would be a great way to spend a vacation. There are several Myrtle Beach Golf Packages to fit different families needs.

Myrtle Beach Golf Vacations is great because you can spend your mornings on the beach and then have a relaxing afternoon. I'm not very good at this sport but I would rather enjoy doing something than be good at it. Plus, it's a great way to reduce stress. Golf Myrtle Beach, here I come!

Blog Tour: Japan Took The J.A.P. Out Of Me by Lisa Cook

When Lisa's husband accepts a job in Japan, she thinks it's going to be a vacation every single day. Little did she know that this was going to be a new experience, one that she would rather not have. She decides to suck it up and learns to live a life that is altogether new to her. In the end she learns more about herself than she ever imagined.

This is a great read for any married woman. I know that there are many things in life that I would endure for the love of my husband. I have been tested, my husband was in Afghanistan and sometimes it takes a shock to your system to realize just how strong you truly are.
