Review & Giveaway: Tropical Traditions Raw Organic Coconut Water Vinegar

Tropical Traditions sent me Raw Organic Coconut Water Vinegar to review. I had no idea that Coconut could be used in so many ways. I thought this was interesting:

A Truly Unique Vinegar!*

Tropical Traditions Organic Coconut Water Vinegar is truly unique and is the first of its kind in the US market! Most vinegars are clear because they are distilled and originally made from white sugar. Our Organic Coconut Water Vinegar is not distilled, but raw. It contains the mother of vinegar. In the Philippines most all commercial vinegars are distilled, and the "coconut vinegars" are not made from the nutrient-packed coconut water from inside the coconut, but from the sap of the coconut tree which is used to make lambanog, an alcoholic drink similar to vodka. These "coconut vinegars" are by-products of the lambanog industry. To make these products, one must harvest the sap of the coconut tree from the coconut flower bud, which would normally become a fruit-bearing coconut. Hence, trees dedicated to harvesting the sap for lambanog and the more common coconut vinegar will never produce coconuts. Tropical Traditions does NOT support coconut products that prevent coconut trees from bearing fruit (this would include "coconut sugar" harvested from the flowering bud of the coconut tree.) Coconut trees in the Philippines have been on the decline for decades, and the coconut oil from coconuts is also now valued as a fuel source in bio-diesel production, resulting in less coconut oil availability as a food source each year. Vinegar made from coconut water, however, does not sacrifice coconuts or coconut oil in its production, as it is collected from mature coconuts which are used to make coconut oil, and the same trees can continue producing coconuts year after year.

The health benefits alone are reason enough for me to use this product instead of what I would find in other Vinegar.

Review & Giveaway: Tropical Traditions Organic Coconut Peanut Butter

If you're new to my blog, you should know that I am absolutely, positively in love with Tropical Traditions. Their USDA organic products, like the Coconut Peanut Butter, are not filled with nasty stuff that will harm your body.

There are only two ingredients in this peanut butter and that is:

100% Organic Premium Organic Roasted Peanuts
Certified Premium Organic Dried Coconut

Say no to:

Fillers
Binders
Sweeteners
Preservatives
Aflatoxins
Fertilizers
Pesticides
Additives

I definitely prefer this peanut butter over Jiffy and other brands that put a lot of crap in their products.  If you ask me, natural products taste better and make me feel better all at the same time.

You can order a 16 oz. glass jar of the Coconut Peanut Butter for $14.99. If you go here to purchase, you only pay $9.99.

Giveaway: Moment of Glory by John Feinstein Audiobook

Full Description*

In 2003, after winning six of the twelve majors from 2000 to 2002, Tiger Woods struggled with his swing, leaving him lagging behind the field at both the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. With Woods out of the picture, the stage was set for a newcomer to claim the top position. Nobody expected that four virtually unknown players would rise to become first-time champions.

In his debut appearance in a major, Ben Curtis became the only player since Francis Ouimet in 1913 to prevail on his first time out. Mike Weir--who was considered a good player but not a great one--triumphed in The Masters, becoming the first Canadian to win a major. In the U.S. Open, Jim Furyk was victorious, and the PGA Championship was claimed by the unknown Shawn Micheel.

But after each player's history-making season, the four have had little further success. 2008 is the first year since that unexpected year, when it will be possible for the four golfers to qualify for the tour. In MOMENT OF GLORY, John Feinstein returns to the unlikely year of 2003 and chronicle the personal and professional struggles of these four players. With great affection for the underdog and extraordinary access to the players, he then looks to the 2008 season, giving readers an insider's look into to how winning (and losing) major championships changes players' lives.

Review: Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business by Gino Wickman

Why do some businesses prosper while others fail? Is it all luck? What can you do to save your business?

If you have questions like these, check out Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business. Gino shares simple tools to help make your business a success. You will learn where your strengths and weaknesses with your business are, which will enable you to focus on what part of your company needs more work.

Like I've said before, some people don't believe that blogging is a business. It may not be for some but there are others like me who spend our days on the blogosphere and making money doing it. I found this book to be a very helpful tool for any entrepreneur, no matter how big the business is.

Review: Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane

The truth has come out. There is no God. Does that mean that people can live without the church? Of course not. Chess works for the Church of Real Truth where she fights one on one with ghosts rather than going to the usual 9 to 5 gig.

Like everybody, Chess owes someone a favor. That someone, Bump, happens to be her drug dealer. What Chess finds rocks her to her core. A human sacrifice has been made and this is when the story really takes off. Could the church have dirty secrets of it's own?

Loved it, loved it, and loved it! The plot was unlike any other book I have ever read. I really liked the way the book was able to deliver. Paranormal fans everywhere will be talking about this book for a while.

Giveaway: The 9th Judgment by James Patterson Audiobook

Lindsey is once again faced with a psychopath killer is not only ruthless, he's smart too. His prey of choice? Women and their child. He gets them when they least expect it. His signature is a cryptic message and Lindsey knows right away that this wasn't just some random act of violence.

On the night of the first mother-child murder, a man and his wife's home is broken into, jewelry is stolen from a safe and the wife has dead. Does this case have anything to do with the murders? How many more people have to die before this puzzle is pieced together?

I'm a huge fan of James Patterson and the Woman's Murder Club. I enjoyed reading this book but I felt like it was a little bland, not as intriguing as most of his books.

Review: Higher Education by Kenneth Jedding

The stress affecting today's youth is not the same as generations before. The biggest worry concerning most is the amount of debt they will be in. There are other concerns that are just as important, such as, how do know if I'm making the right career choice? Will I make enough money to pay back my loans? What can I do to make sure that I don't end up sleeping on someone's couch for the rest of my life?

Ken is a life coach who has some special insight for today's young adults. He tackles the tough questions that keep college kids up at night. He's funny, smart and likable. It's obvious that he wants to help remove some unneeded stress and guide college bound students into the future. This would be the perfect graduation present.

Review: COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast & ShineBlast Lip Gloss

If you ask me, a person's eyes are their most important feature. Changing your eye makeup can make you look like a whole new person. That's why I love to play around with my makeup so I'm not bored every time I look in the mirror. The Smoky ShadowBlast is awesome! The first time I used it, I read the directions and put it on that way. My eyes looked gorgeous! They popped in a good way and made my eyes the focal point of my face. The ShineBlast Lip Gloss was really nice too. It made my lips a little fuller which is great because my lips are pretty small. COVERGIRL, you've done it again! I highly recommend the Blast line!

Review: The Alexandria Letter by George Honig

What Nathan Tobin uncovers is the find of a lifetime, the Alexandria letter, He sets out to prove that this document is in fact a letter from the time of Jesus. Nathan's new discovery will shock Christianity to it's core. It contains information that neither the Church nor certain scholars want any part of. He is determined to find out the truth, even if it kills him.

I love conspiracy books! I had a lot of fun reading George's book and I felt like I was right beside Nathan throughout his whole adventure. Four stars!

Small Business

My whole life I have wanted to be my own boss. I'm a hard worker but I don't like being micro-managed and I really don't like office politics. It reminds me of high school, there are the cool people who will always make more money and the nerds who do three times the amount work and live off $10 an hour.

Some people may not consider blogging a job but it can be. I make my own hours and I can take on as much or as little work as I please. I make money and I end up saving a lot of money because I receive products in exchange for reviews. I'm always searching for small business solutions and small business tools to educate myself on the best way to run my business. I keep records of everything and I have checklists that I go through. There are times when it gets to be a little overwhelming but that's usually because of my home life, not my blogging. If anyone has some small business tips to share, I'm all ears.

Review & Giveaway: Amazon Queen by Lori Devoti

Zery, an Amazon Queen, has never been more unsure of anything in her life. For generations Zery and her people have lived quietly and without threats from outsiders. Now, the Amazon sons are showing signs of female traits which has her wondering if the males have any other talents they have been hiding. Zery admits that certain changes do need to be made within the tribe but she isn't quite sure how to go about it. Her power is slowly slipping away. Will she be able to save her people? Or will someone else take charge of the tribe and risk everything her people have tried so hard to protect?

I liked this book. There were certain parts that I thought were kind of out there, but overall it's a fun book.

Review & GIveaway: SpongeBob SquarePants Scratch & Sketch

My nephew is a bit obsessed with Bikini Bottom's lovable sponge. When SpongeBob is on, he goes into a trance, literally. One day I went over to my sisters and he was laying on the couch watching the show and I said, "hi". He looked at me, shook his head no and his eyes went right back to the TV.

This art activity book is one of the greatest things I have ever been able to share with Damien. He went nuts for this thing! The pages are covered with a black coating that can be scratched away using a wooden stylus. It will keep the kids busy for a while with 20 scratch-off, 20 illustrated and 20 sketch pages.

Review: Acing Depression by Cliff Richey with Hilaire Richey Kallendorf PhD

Depression doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care about the color of your skin or the amount of money you have. It doesn't care if you have a loving family or if you're all alone. Even though everyone's life is different, there are some basic characteristics of depression that are present in the person suffering.

I suffer from depression, which is the main reason I was interested in reviewing this book. Cliff, the tennis star who won many games back in the 1970's, had his own mental illness to deal with. Our story is somewhat similar in that both of us would lay in bed for hours crying without knowing why these tears were falling. Cliff's ten years of fighting this setback was a brutal battle but he wasn't a quitter and in the end he learned how to deal the cards he was dealt.

His honestly in this book is extremely touching. I know a lot of people who think that it's weird that I will admit to anyone that I've had mental issues but the thing they don't realize is what a relief it is to say it and accept it. Plus, if you have truly come to terms with your disease, you want to let the world know that it is possible to live a somewhat normal life, if you're willing to work at it. It's not easy or fun but you come out stronger than you ever could have imagined. I feel like Cliff is a kindred spirit and I'm really glad that he has shared his story and I know that this book will help others with the same illness.

Review: Manual For Living: Reality by Seth David Chernoff

The meaning of life has always been a topic of debate. Why are we here? What happens when we die? There are so many questions and I don't really have the slightest clue to what the answers are. The Manual for Living helped bring new ideas to light, as well as reinforcing the certain aspects of living that I already knew. It's full of knowledge and the entire book just seems to flow. If you're interested in learning more about humans and spiritual journeys, I recommend this book.

Giveaway: Men and Dogs by Katie Crouch Audiobook

Full Description*

In April of 1985, Buzz Legare went fishing. The next day all that was found was his boat and his waiting, faithful dog.

Twenty years later, his daughter Hannah still finds hope in believing, alone among her family, that he's still alive somewhere. She has a smart husband, a thriving business, a beautiful home in San Francisco-and a huge hole in her troubled heart. True to her trademark talent for self-sabotage, she finds herself one starry night climbing up the fire escape in a desperate (and drunken) attempt to win back her own husband--and failing disastrously.

Slightly worse for the wear, Hannah returns to Charleston to salve her wounds. There, old loves, unrepented crimes, and family legends are stirred up from the dust. Hannah's brother Palmer, the stoic with a secret of his own, cannot dissuade her from a manic search to uncover clues to the past, and they will both face shocking discoveries that lead them to reconcile their very different notions of loyalty and blind faith.

As she did so memorably in her bestselling debut, Girls in Trucks, Katie Crouch has created another great voice--spiky, tender, and hilarious--in the screwball heroine Hannah Legare. Much like Julia Roberts in My Best Friend's Wedding, Hannah follows the misguided impulses of a heart that's in the right place.
