SCAREFEST Review: The Exorcism of Emily Rose - Unrated (Special Edition)

Oscar(R) nominees Laura Linney (2000, Best Actress, You Can Count on Me) and Tom Wilkinson (2001, In the Bedroom) delve into the supernatural in this thriller based on a true story that will test your resolve, and ultimately your faith. Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter, White Chicks) was an average teenage girl who was the target of terrifying demonic forces that would ultimately shock a town and torment her soul. but was she, as many believe, possessed? In an attempt to clear the clergyman who exorcised Emily, a skeptical attorney (Linney) awakens to the discovery that powerful spiritual forces may actually exist. This harrowing film unfolds like a recurring nightmare from which there is no waking.
From Sony Pictures

I don't scare easily.  When I was thirteen, I would walk to the video store right after it got dark and I would rent a few scary movies.  Then, I would go into my bedroom, turn off the lights and watch them by myself.  For the most part, my imagination can conjure up scarier things than anyone has put in movie or book.  I must admit though that The Exorcism of Emily Rosefreaked the crap out of me!  I know that part of that is because it is a true story.  I know that demons can possess a person and to me that is the scariest thing that could ever happen to someone.  If you watch this movie, I hope you are prepared to be terrified.
