The Study at Yale Hotel & Amy Sacks

THE STUDY AT YALE HOTEL OFFERS GUESTS EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO AMY SACKS DESIGNER READING GLASSES

AS A TRIBUTE TO HOTEL’S SPECTACLE LOGO GUESTS CAN BORROW DESIGNER READING GLASSES DURING THEIR STAY

NEW HAVEN, CT, August 30, 2010 – Keeping with its reputation as the intelligent choice for travelers, The Study at Yale today introduces an exclusive partnership with Amy Sacks Eyewear. Guests at The Study who forgot to pack their own reading glasses can choose from an array of Amy Sacks’ designer frames. This new amenity offering was inspired by the hotel’s own logo, a pair of eye spectacles embodied in an iron sculpture near the building’s front entrance.

Reading glasses from the hotel collection are available for guests to borrow during their visit.  They can also choose to purchase their glasses at the front desk or order a similar pair from the Amy Sacks Eyewear catalogue.

“The Study is about sophistication and exemplary service,” said owner Paul McGowan. “Forgetting your reading glasses at home when traveling on the road is frustrating. So, taking into consideration our guests’ needs, we created this new menu of loaner reading glasses in conjunction with Amy Sacks.”

“We were thrilled to be asked to offer our designer reading glasses to the guests of The Study at Yale,” said Ann Sacks, President of Amy Sacks Eyewear. “Our designs are contemporary and sophisticated, and are therefore a perfect fit for The Study at Yale.

The Study at Yale is a chic 124-room boutique hotel featuring a contemporary European design aesthetic, located within the Yale University Campus on picturesque Chapel Street. The concept for The Study at Yale -- to create a sense of place in a sophisticated but relaxed environment that has relevance to its location on campus -- is one McGowan hopes to expand to other campuses and cultural centers across the country. Every detail of The Study at Yale has been carefully considered, down to aforementioned hotel logo, which is meant to inspire guests to read, reflect and relax during their stay.

Amy Sacks Eyewear is the brainchild of Ann Sacks, who founded the company after her retirement from her original company, Ann Sacks Tile & Stone. Amy Sacks is a collection of eyewear which delivers exceptional quality and design at value pricing and which contributes all profits to animal rescue through a non-profit foundation called The Pixie Project.
