Blog Tour - Seduce Me by Robyn DeHart

GUEST POST
It was suggested that I might blog on the happiest day of my life. I could talk about the day I graduated from college, it was a great day and my family was so proud. Or I could talk about the day I finished writing my first book. It was two years in the making and frankly I wasn’t sure I’d ever finish it. It was rough and needed a lot of work, but I’d done it, I’d written an entire book from chapter one to “the end.” Or what about the day I got that call – my cell phone’s caller ID had that 212 area code, New York City! I answered the phone already shaking and sure enough it was the call I’d waited seven years to receive. It was a great day, to be sure. And what about Tuesday, July 28th when my 5th novel hit stores? Seduce Me is by far my favorite book I’ve written to date, it’s exciting and fun and sexy and adventurous.
All of these were great days. But the happiest day of my life, well, that’s an easy one.
I’ll give you a hint…I wore white from head to toe, walked slowly and stood next to the love of my life. Okay that’s more than a hint, that was a dead giveaway. It was my wedding day. I was a blushing bride, and it was truly the happiest days of my life and totally magical. The Professor (aka my husband) and I wanted an intimate ceremony that was totally about us; a celebration of our love. So we found a beautiful little chapel in the hill country of Texas nestled on beautiful grounds full of oak trees and wildflowers. The day was absolutely perfect and considering it was the only sunny/dry Saturday in a nine-week span, that in itself was a miracle.
The ceremony itself was very traditional, although we did communion instead of the unity candle. We had two songs performed, one Eva Cassidy’s You Take My Breath Away and two, Twila Paris’ How Beautiful. My nieces were all flower girls and my nephew did a reading. I had four attendants, my sister was my matron of honor and three of my girlfriends rounded out the rest. They all carried a simple bouquet of three star-gazer lilies bound with a simple ribbon.
Because of the way the inside of the church was constructed, we did all of our official photos outside, which was really quite lovely.
There seems to be a trend these days to have very formal and fancy receptions with full meals and personalized favors and the whole nine yards. We opted not to do this and decided instead to do a simple dessert reception, which I really think was fitting for our afternoon wedding and everyone seemed to enjoy. Because of this, I really wanted to splurge on the cake. We used the best cake company in Austin and it really was so delicious - white cake with amaretto filling and buttercream frosting. YUM! I liked the square and we did whimsical swirls on it to match my dress. The Professor and I had talked before the wedding and I thought we’d agreed that there would be no cake stuffing or smashing. Evidently we were a bit unclear on that. But I couldn’t be mad because it resulted in my favorite wedding picture.
Along with the cake we did a chocolate fountain with all the yummies - strawberries, marshmallows, pretzel rods, and other fruits. It was so tasty.
I know I’m totally biased, but I honestly think it’s the prettiest wedding I’ve ever been too. We got so many compliments on it, saying it was the most romantic wedding ever and that everyone could just feel our love. Which really is the best compliment when it comes to this sort of thing. But in the end no matter what happened that day we were married and that was the very best part. It took me a long time to find my Prince Charming, but he was so worth the wait.

It’s my own happy ending (though it’s not really the end, is it?) that inspires me everyday when I sit down to write my books. Like my newest release, Seduce Me, which pits a sassy heroine against a to-die-for hero. They must work together against the forces of a criminal mastermind in the quest for the illusive Pandora’s Box.

So how about you? What was the happiest day of your life?

You can visit Robyn's website here.

Seduce Me is about a man named Fielding Grey who has been sent to uncover an artifact. While searching for this item, Grey runs into a member of Solomons, an elite secret society who are searching for world treasures. Grey's dad was part of Solomons and Grey felt as if his dad was stolen by this group with the lure of untold wealth. The treasure they are in search of at this moment is Pandora's box.

Esme walks into a room in her house and to her surprise, finds that her room has been ransacked and the culprits are still present. She tries to stand her ground and tell them that she doesn't have anything worth stealing. She tells them she doesn't know anything about the key they are in search of. Esme is captured and held by these men.

Esme finds Pandora's box. Will she hand it over to this group that kidnapped her to save her life, or will she and Fielding fall victim to this powerful box?

Loved it! Books like this are why I have such a passion for reading. When I was little and thinking about what I wanted to do with my life, I would change my mind everyday. I wanted and still want to do so many things that I will probably never be able to do. Not because I don't believe in myself but because some of things that I want to do would probably kill me. I would love to dig up dinosaur bones, I would love to be a treasure hunter, I want to discover a cave, just to name a few. I may never do some of things that I want to do physically but when I read I am able to be whatever I want to be. It's the greatest release. I would probably be insane if it wasn't for great storytellers to help me escape from my troubles.

Thank you Anna and Robyn for allowing me to participate in this blog tour.
