Review: Carmex Moisure Plus

Carma Laboratories Inc., the maker of Carmex® lip balm products, today announced the introduction of two new Carmex Moisture Plus™ ultra-hydrating lip balms with tints of sheer color. Sheer pink and sheer peach mark the first time Carmex has added a color to its lip balm products.

The satin gloss finish provides a hint of peach or pink color. This premium ultra-hydrating lip balm with a slant tip applicator provides intense moisturizing with vitamin E, aloe, shea butter and avocado butter and has an SPF 15 to provide additional protection. These new lip balm products will be available beginning in August for $2.99 each at Walgreens and Walgreens.com.

“In our nearly 75 year history, these are our first tinted products and we are very excited about them. They are an affordable way for women to give their lips intense hydration with a slight hint of color,” said Paul Woelbing, president of Carma Laboratories. The new Moisture Plus tints join the popular Carmex family of products, including original Carmex Moisture Plus ultra hydrating lip balm, which provides a clear, satin gloss finish. Carmex lip balm is available in a jar, tube or stick, in several different flavors and with sun protection. For more than 10 years running, Carmex has been the most pharmacist-recommended lip balm; ranking number one in a national survey of over-the-counter lip balm products by Pharmacy Times magazine.

I don't wear lipstick.  To me, it's just too much of a hassle.  I either end up with it on my teeth or it fades so fast that there was no point in even putting any on.  That being said, I love chapstick!  I like for my lips to be moisturized at all times.  What I really love about the Carmex Moisture Plus is that I can give my lips a hint of color that looks natural while protecting them from getting chapped or windburn.  The color lasts for a really long time, longer than any gloss or lipstick I have ever used in the past.  Plus, my lips feel fantastic!  The packaging was minimal which is a great because I hate buying products that use a lot of unnecessary plastic.  I stand behind Carmex because their products work and they do not test on animals.  Now I just hope they come out with a burgandy shade!

  1. I would love to try this! I love the Carmex traditional lip balm in the tub but like my lip balm to have some color to it (like Chapstick makes). This would be the best of both worlds!

  3. I love the idea of a light tint to my lip balm rather than just glossy lips. Thanks for the review!
