CHARMIN ATTEMPTS TO BREAK GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR LARGEST CHA-CHA-CHA DANCE

Media Invited to Capture the Attempt at the Record Live in New York City


WHAT:         The Charmin Cha-Cha-Cha originated in the brand commercials in Mexico and it’s stayed with consumers.  In honor of the fifth year of the Charmin Restrooms in New York City and the first year in Mexico City, Charmin is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest Cha-Cha-Cha dance. Everyone is invited to join Charmin and its special guest, Luis Fonsi, to become part of world record-breaking history event in Times Square.  In the holiday giving spirit, for each person that joins to help break the record, Charmin will donate $5 (up to $20K) to Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City.

DEFINITION OF RECORD
This record is for the greatest number of people simultaneously performing the same cha-cha-cha dance at a single venue.  Current record is held by TVN Television (Poland) in Krakow, Poland on August 31, 2008 with 3,270.

WHO:        Luis Fonsi, Latin Grammy Award-winning Recording Artist to lead participants in hopes of breaking the world record for the largest Cha-Cha-Cha dance.

WHY:                 The Charmin Restrooms, returning to NYC for the fifth consecutive year, are Charmin’s annual gift to holiday visitors and local New Yorkers, providing a free, clean and family-friendly place to “enjoy the go” during this busy time of year.   This year, to acknowledge the hundreds of thousands of visitors from the across the country, Charmin designed each of the 15 bathrooms to represent different iconic U.S. locations.  Through the Go Nation challenge, Charmin is extending the Charmin Restrooms experience beyond New York City to all those who won’t be able to “enjoy the go” there this year.  For more information about the Charmin Restrooms, visit EnjoytheGo.com.
