Q & A with Author Preetham Grandi

Thank you Preetham for taking the time answer my questions:)

When did you know that you wanted to be a writer?
I always wanted to make movies. I like story telling and the I felt a step towards that would be writing a story.

Who has been your biggest inspiration?
I used to read a lot of Enid Blyton books as a kid. She opened up my imagination which is an important part of being a writer.

How do you create the characters in your books? Are they based on people you know?
This kind of a book is called fictional realism. Some aspects are based on real people and events and some are fictional. Mostly every character has a blend of the two, some more than others.

What is the one book you think everyone should read?
I think one should read "Animals in Translation" by Temple Grandin. It is a non fiction book but a great book that gives insights into the way animals might think. I found it fascinating.

If you weren’t a writer, what be your profession?
A movie maker, that's the direction I hope to go in.

If you could trade places with anyone in the world, past or present, real or fiction, who would it be and why?
I would love to be Tintin, and enjoy all those fantastic adventures.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have 3 things, what would they be?
Fresh water, more fresh water and a mirror.

What is your favorite movie of all time?
Star Wars and the whole series is a timeless classic.

What is the one thing that you want all your fans to know?

We are all held accountable for our actions in some way or the other, so be sure to think about what you do before you do it.

If you could invite 5 people to dinner, who would they be and why?

I would love to invite five of those who read my book ranging from those who hated it to those who loved it and talk about their views and expectations.

Thanks for this opportunity to share my thoughts with you.

Preetham
