As soon as I could stand up on my own two feet, my dad taught me the proper way to kick. He wasn't trying to raise a bully, but he wanted to know that his daughter would be able to protect herself if a problem arose. I think this is the reason why I loved The Karate Kid and 3 Ninjas.
This book is about Sam, who is going to his first karate lesson. He thinks this is going to be a breeze and he'll walk out of there with a black belt. Little did he know, you have to work your way up to the black belt. Sam learns what it takes to be patient and how important it is to focus on your goals.
My nephew loved this book. He was walking around kicking his leg in the air. This is a great book for young ones.
