Walgreens & Express Scripts Sever Relationship

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I just recently learned about the negotiation struggle between Walgreens and Express Scripts.  While this severed relationship doesn't affect me personally, I can imagine how frustrating it can be for those that are used to working with both companies.  This discontinued relationship may mean you take a hit in your wallet.  While Walgreens wanted to maintain the relationship, Express Scripts did not.  Feel free to contact the media if you are affected and would like to take a stand.

I try to look at the bright side of things and I am happy to say that now you can sign up for a Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens.

What is this new program and how can it help you?

Well, it means that you can pay discount prices on your medications.  If you join and end up spending more on your membership than on paying for prescriptions, Walgreens will issue a refund for the difference.  Membership gives you access to save money on more than 8,000 medications, both name brands and generics.  You will also receive discounts on certain services, including flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and supplies for diabetics.

How much does this cost?

For a family membership, the fee is $10 per year and covers your immediate family (spouse and dependents who are 22 or younger) and even your pets.

What about if you are single?

The membership fee for a single person is only $5 a year.

This is such an amazing deal!  I'm thinking about checking out the Prescription Savings Club for my family.
