When I was around eight, I got on a skateboard for the first time. I wasn't very good at it which is strange because I was in gymnastics and I had really good balance at the time. I don't know if maybe I was just extremely nervous or if I just wasn't meant to be a skater. I kept on trying for a couple years and although I wasn't very good at it, I had a blast trying. I tried to do the cool tricks that I would see other kids doing and even though it never panned out, I'm proud of myself for not giving up too easily. I love skateshops. Even as an adult, I will stand back in awe when watching a really talented skater. I always wanted to be able to do flips in the air and skate on a railing. I played the Tony Hawk skating game for Playstation 2 and luckily I was better at the game than I was at skateboarding in real life. I haven't tried in several years. Who knows, maybe as an adult I'll be able to skate better. Wouldn't that be funny, if after all those years I got on a skateboard and was finally able to do what I wanted to as a kid?
